2010 rock school rocked!

This year's Rock School rocked with some fantastic performances, good solid hard graft put in learning and recording two songs, along with some great coaching from Jenny Howe on vocals, Chris Hempsall on drums and our resident axeman Mig.  Look out for exciting news about new bands and of course for the next Shipwrecked gig nights.

In the meanwhile here's three recordings from the day (recorded two track off the desk and only a few moments of post-production):

bike skate blade summer 2010

There's a few things planned for the holidays for any bike, skate or bladers.

30th July: BSB festival 11am to 4pm  (location tbc)

3rd August: BSB ramps at Old Dean Youth Centre 2pm to 6pm

17th August: Trip to another skate park

babysitting course sept 2010

Learn how to be a safe babysitter on the British Red Cross babysitting course. The course covers all the things you need to know to keep the kids in your care and yourself safe.

The course is open to anyone aged 14-18 and includes six weekday evening sessions and one weekend First Aid session.  You can download all the details and a booking form here.

The next babysitting course will be running on Thurs evenings in Sept/Oct 2010, with one Sat all day session.

shipwrecked - new venue for local young bands

2010_shipwrecked_flyer_v02_webShipwrecked, the new music venue at the Three Mariners in Bagshot for 14-18 year olds, was launched in March 2010 by a team of young people supported by the Windle Valley Youth Project and is somewhere for 14-18's to play and listen to local acts. The team has already won funding from the Youth Opportunity Fund which will cover some of the costs and the Three Mariners has kindly provided the venue.
