katy through to regional finals of live and unsigned
Thursday, 02 February 2012 14:24

Congratulations go to Katy Hurt who sang her way through to the Live and Unsigned Showcase Regional Finals, scheduled to take place later this year on 11th March.  If you've heard Katy sing at Shipwrecked, our 5th Anniversary party or the recent charity night at the Three Mariners in Bagshot, you'll not be too surprised she's doing so well.

This year's series of the UK's biggest live music competition for unsigned artists had been eagerly awaited by thousands. Whilst winning can bring the opportunity of recording time in the studio and international tour dates, for all of the acts taking part there's joy in being able to showcase their talent in front of large live audiences.

Judges for this prestigious national competition come from BBC Radio 1, NME and Kerrang music magazines and various record labels.

The events are held in big venues all around the country and the south east regional qualifying auditions took place at Beck Theatre, Middlesex, on Sunday 29th January. With some 250 bands, groups and solo acts fighting it out for only 50 places in the main stage finals, competition was understandably fierce and Katy sang her song to perfection.

Well done Katy and good luck in March.
